  • The Last Brick



    (March 8, 2017) Photo: The laying of the last brick. Students (Left to right) Beryl Bell, Sean Vanbergen, and Matthew Palmer set the final graphite brick into place near the UCN cryostat. The graphite is used as a moderator and reflector for neutrons, giving them a chance to enter the superfluid helium in the cryostat and become ultracold.
